UAV DESIGNS

As a part of a undergraduate student group, we participated in several UAV competitions. Apart from computer vision part of these projects, I was responsible of conceptual and mechanical design of the UAV using CAD programs. I also took a part in manufacturing processes of these projects in which I have experienced with composite materials and 3D printing.

In this design I was mainly responsible for conceptual and and mechanical design of the aircraft. I did my desings in Solidworks. Also, I involved in material selection for the components of the aircraft, deciding the manufacturing methods for them. This design was manufactured using variaous materials including, plywood, PLA, aluminium and carbonfiber tubes using FDM 3D printer, and 2D laser cutter. This design won awards, which are Second Place in METU VTOL 2020 Sponsored by Boeing and First Place in International Robot Competition. Final version of the design can be seen below:
